Insert:-The Insert tab contains various items that you may want to insert into a document. These items include such things as tables, word art, hyperlinks, symbols, charts, signature line, date & time, header, footer, text boxes, links, boxes, equations and so on.


New Slide:-When you create a new blank presentation in PowerPoint, one default slide that contains a “Title Slide” layout appears. ... To add another slide to your presentation, you must then insert a new slide and determine which placeholders appear in the slide

Table:- Tables are another tool you can use to display information in PowerPoint. A table is a grid of cells arranged in rows and columns. Tables are useful for various tasks, including presenting text information and numerical data. You can even customize tables to fit your presentation.

From the Insert tab, click the Table command.

Hover the mouse over the grid of squares to select the desired number of columns and rows in the table. In our example, we'll insert a table with six rows and six columns (6x6). 

The table will appear on the currently selected slide. In our example, that's slide Click anywhere in the table, and begin typing to add text. You can also use the Tab key or the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through the table.

Pictures:- This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft PowerPoint: 2010, 2013, and 2016

To insert a picture on a PowerPoint slide:

Click in the slide where you want to insert a picture.

On the Insert tab, in the Images group, click Pictures. 

In the Insert Picture dialog box, navigate to the folder that contains the picture, select it, and click Open. Insert Picture Dialog Box

Online Pictures:-You can use the Online Pictures option. This feature is very helpful, because you get access to a large amount of visual content, some of which also include Creative Commons pictures. And all this happens within PowerPoint Online, within your web browser. ... You insert a picture within a slide irrespective of its layout

Screenshot :- By using the Screenshot feature in PowerPoint, you can take screenshots and save a computer screen image into your slides. The screenshot functionality is available under the Insert menu, in the PowerPoint Ribbon. When you click this option, a popup will appear showing the current Windows in your computer

Photo Album

Select the Insert tab.

Click the Photo Album command in the Images group, then select New Photo Album. ... 

The Photo Album dialog box appears. ... 

Select the desired image file(s). ... 

The Photo Album dialog box provides several options for moving, adjusting, and changing the layout of pictures 

Shapes:-On the Insert tab, click Shapes.

Click the shape you want, click anywhere in the workspace, and then drag to place the shape. To create a perfect square or circle (or constrain the dimensions of other shapes), press and hold Shift while you drag.


Smart Art:- SmartArt is a tool in PowerPoint that allows you to create complicated charts and diagrams with a minimum amount of effort. SmartArt is “smart” in that is automatically adjusts for size as you work on the layout.


Chart:-To create a simple chart from scratch in PowerPoint, click Insert > Chart and pick the chart you want. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Chart. In the Insert Chart dialog box, click the arrows to scroll through the chart types. Select the type of chart that you want and then click OK.

Hyperlink:-Hyperlink. In PowerPoint, you can create a hyperlink using any text within your presentation. When clicked on, a hyperlink can directly link to a specific slide within your presentation, a saved file, a web page, another PowerPoint presentation, or a custom email

Click the Insert tab.

Click the Shapes command in the Illustrations group. A drop-down menu will appear with the action buttons located at the very bottom. 

Select the desired action button.

Insert the button onto the slide by clicking the desired location. The Action Settings dialog box will appear.

Select the Mouse Click or Mouse Over tab. Selecting the Mouse Click tab means the action button will perform its action only when clicked. Selecting the Mouse Over tab will make the action button perform its action when you move the mouse over it. 

In the Action on click section, select Hyperlink to:, then click the drop-down arrow and choose an option from the menu.

Check the Play Sound box if you want a sound to play when the action button is clicked. Select a sound from the drop-down menu, or select Other sound to use a sound file on your computer. When you're done, click OK.

Text Box:-A text box is a special type of drawing object that lets you insert and position text anywhere in a presentation.

Header&Footer:-When we talk about headers and footers in a presentation, we mean the small details near the top or bottom of your slides. These include the slide number, a text footer, and the date. Headers and footers appear in various positions, depending on the theme and the slide layout.

WordArt:-You can use WordArt to add special text effects to your document. For example, you can stretch a title, skew text, make text fit a preset shape, or apply a gradient fill. This WordArt becomes an object that you can move or position in your document to add decoration or emphasis.

Date&Time :-Add the Current Time and Date to a PowerPoint Slide Choose the Normal view. Select the first slide of the slideshow. Next, click on the Insert tab and go to the Text group. Click on the little Date and Time icon, which gives you options to insert the current date and time into the PowerPoint document.


Slide Number:-Slide numbers make it easy for you and your audience to refer to a specific portion of your presentation. For example, your audience can seek a clarification on mail - about a point you made in your presentation saying, “As mentioned on Slide No. 11 of your Ecotourism presentation


Object:-The Insert Object box lists the object types you can use. There are two ways to insert content objects into a PowerPoint presentation: Linked objects A linked object is updated if its source file is changed. 



Equation:-

To use Ink Equations, from the Insert tab of the Ribbon, in the Symbols group, select Equation and then choose Ink Equation .


Symbol:-Go to Insert > Symbol. Pick a symbol, or choose More Symbols. Scroll up or down to find the symbol you want to insert. Different font sets often have different symbols in them and the most commonly used symbols are in the Segoe UI Symbol font set.


Video, Audio:- To insert a sound or video, go to the Insert Ribbon and click on the Video or Audio icon and choose Video or Audio from File….

Navigate to the correct clip, and click the OK button.

Once audio is inserted, an audio button will appear, allowing sound to play when it is clicked on.

Screen Recording:-Click Insert.

Click Screen Recording.

Select the region of your screen you want to record.

Click Record. If you don't want to add audio or your cursor pointer to your recording, click those buttons, as they are automatically enabled.

Click Stop.
