 Power Point 2016 Shapes Format Tab Lesson-3

Format:- The Format tab is part of the tool bar for changing shape parameters. 



Shape:- Go to the Drawing Tools menu in the ribbon. Click on the Format tab. Look in the Shape Styles grouping of commands. You will see three icons on the right: Shape Fill, Shape Outline and Shape Effects. 

Edit Shape:-Click the shape that you want to change. To select multiple shapes, press and hold CTRL while you click the shapes. ... 

Under Drawing Tools, on the Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, click Edit Shape . ... 

Point to Change Shape, and then click the shape that you want.

Text Box :-A text box is a special type of drawing object that lets you insert and position text anywhere in a presentation.

Merge Shapes:-You can use the Merge Shapes feature to create new, custom shapes from one or more existing shapes. Select a shape. The merged shape will take on the color of the first shape selected, so if you want to keep a particular color, be sure to select that shape first.

Shape Style :-Shape Styles are a collection of prebuilt styles housed within a gallery of the same name. These styles are all Theme-specific. ... It means that if a presentation's Theme changes, you'll end up with new Shape Styles. Figure 1, below shows a selection of Shape Styles presets applied to some shapes

Shape Fill:- You can change the look of a shape or text box by changing its fill or by adding effects to it, such as shadows, glows, reflections, soft edges, bevels, and three-dimensional (3-D) rotations. A fill is a color, pattern, texture, picture, or gradient applied to the interior of a shape. 

Shape Outline:- Shape fills in PowerPoint indicate something that is contained within the confines of the shape. Similarly, shapes have another attribute known as the "line" or the "outline". A line is the perimeter surrounding a closed shape or the line itself within an open shape.

Shape Effect:-With the plethora of effects available in PowerPoint, you can make a Shape stand apart with a drop shadow. Other effects allow you to create convincing reflections, spreading glows, 3D bevel effects, and even soft edges

Word art Styles:-A WordArt Style will automatically apply several effects to your text at once. You can then refine the look of your text by adding or modifying text effects. Select a text box, or select some text inside of the text box. On the Format tab, click the More drop-down arrow in the WordArt Styles group.

Text Fill:- To change multiple shapes or text boxes, click the first shape or text box, and then press and hold Ctrl while you click the other shapes or text boxes. On the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Text Fill and, under Theme Colors, pick the color you want.

Text Outline:-In order to outline text in PowerPoint, first highlight the complete text. Then, click on the “Shape Format” tab. Next, click on the “Text Outline” option and from the dropdown, choose a color for the text outline. You can also choose to increase the weight of the outline to make it more visible.

Text Effects:-PowerPoint allows you to add effects to the text inside of a text box, which is known as WordArt. For the most part, the types of effects you can add are the same as the ones you can add to shapes and text boxes (shadow, bevel,

Bring Forward, Send Backward:- Bring Forward Means to bring the selected object (Shapes, Picture, and other objects) forward to one object or in front of all other objects is called Bring Forward. Similarly, sending the selected object back to one object or all other objects, called Send Backward

Selection Pane:-The Selection Pane lets you manage all the objects on your slide. With the Selection Pane, you can hide, rename, and change the stacking order of the individual objects on your slide. 

Align lift :-Shape and text Can be align left

Align Center:- Shape and text Can be align Center

Align Right:-Shape and text Can be align Right

Align Top:-Shape and text Can be align Top

Align Middle:-Shape and text Can be align Middle

Align Bottom:-Shape and text Can be align Bottom

Distribute Horizontally:-Shape and text Can be Distribute Horizontally 

Distribute Vertically:-Shape and text Can be Distribute Vertically

Group:-Grouping allows you to make two or more PowerPoint objects into a single 'grouped' object that you can more easily move around and manage on your slide. For example, here's how you can group pictures together in PowerPoint: Simply holding the Shift key down, select your pictures. Hit Ctrl + G on your keyboard.

Regroup:-Regrouping: Sometimes, you need to ungroup an object just so that you can make one small change to a particular slide object. Regrouping remembers whatever objects comprised the original group, and reconstitutes the original group without you having to select all individual slide objects all over again

Ungroup :-Select the group that you want to ungroup. Do one of the following: To ungroup pictures, on the Picture Tools Format tab, click Group > Ungroup. To ungroup shapes and objects, on the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Group > Ungroup.

Rotate:-To do so, click and highlight the text box you want to rotate. Next, in the “Format” tab, click the “Rotate” option in the “Arrange” group. A drop-down menu will appear with a few options to rotate your text. The first two options will rotate the text box right or left by 90 degrees from its current position.

Shapes Height:-Can Increase Shape Height

Shapes Width:-Can decrease Shape Width
